Pittsburgh is known as the City of Bridges, but I would call it the City of Locations. Many couples that I work with want to have a piece of Pittsburgh architecture in their portraits, and the result is often stunning. This lovely maternity portrait is a good example of what I call urban Pittsburgh style.
The location of this maternity couple's portrait is a downtown Pittsburgh rooftop. While a rooftop is not quite as iconic to Pittsburgh as one of its beautiful bridges or flowing rivers, the effect is the same: urban, downtown, modern and architectural.
This lovely couple chose shades of brown, with mom wearing beige and Dad wearing a deeper shade of brown. The myriad rooftops in the background give a sense of spaciousness while adding texture and shapes.
When planning a maternity portrait, there are many choices. You may choose to be photographed in my studio, in your own home, in a flower-filled meadow, near and bridge, or on a roof! I can provide couple with lots of examples of the various options, giving you a sense of the look and feel of your finished portrait.
