Baby Annalise | Mt. Lebanon Family Baby Photographer

My life has settled now and I am doing photography full-time (quit my teaching job!), we bought a house (Cedarhurst area of Mt. Lebanon–did you know there is a tiny lake there?), and Jonah & Mimi are the sweetest, mellowest, cutest children a mama could ask for.  Jonah is now almost 2 1/2, and Mimi is rapidly approaching 7 months old. I am already missing her first, second, third months of life and need some new babies to squeeze.

I am overjoyed to admit that I really love living here and I am missing Portland less and less.  The culture of Mt. Lebanon and Pittsburgh are extremely supportive of families, there are so much exciting cultural things I want to do and have done here (Pirates games, Pittsburgh Zoo, wonderful parks, Carnegie Library, etc etc etc), and I have gotten to know many, many wonderful people in the 10 months I have been living here. On a very deep level, I feel I am coming into my own as a mom, a wife, and a person and am truly flourishing!

I got so slammed last spring in preparation for our move to Pittsburgh and a run of awesome clients, that I never blogged some of my favorite clients and sessions!  I am going to try to get to 5-6 of my favorites in the coming weeks, starting with this session of baby Annalise:

This couple was fun and easy, we got the most beautiful day at the Portland Rose Garden, and I just love the way their portraits turned out.  This is a great example of why I like to shoot families on location (this could be a park, your backyard/garden, or an exotic location like the aviary or the zoo) when possible.  I think the whole shoot was less than an hour, and I got so many lovable portraits of this family and their beautiful baby girl. Springtime = new life, new friends, & beautiful portraits!

Mt. Lebanon Family Photographer | Graybill Family

It’s spring!  (Right???)  This is my first spring in Pittsburgh and I am surprised at how the weather changes from one day to the next.  We have had freezing temps, snow, thunderstorms, and sunny/70’s in the last few weeks.  I have clothing for all seasons in my drawers and closets, and I’m running out of room! Is this typical for Pittsburgh springtime?

My goal for the Graybill portrait was a shiny happy springtime portrait, but although we got a lovely sunny day, it was COLD!  These guys are troopers and let me put baby Delaney in a pretty spring dress without a sweater for a nanosecond to capture a cute shot of her. My favorite portraits of this day involved a piano and chickens!

Buschman Family Portrait | Mt. Lebanon Pittsburgh Family Photographer

Pint-sized beauty Madeleine has been taking ballet lessons and loves her jewels!

I had the pleasure of joining the Buschman family at their lovely home in the Mission Hills area of Mt. Lebanon.  After months of rain and snow, we REALLY lucked out and got this beautiful, sunny spring morning.

 


I LOVE the mother/daughter portrait. The stars aligned on this day with the perfect morning light and happiest child!  Feels great to be shooting again… thanks Buschmans for having me in your home!
