Pittsburgh Maternity Photographer | Ali W.

Ali came to the studio at about 7 1/2 months, and she is ready for the arrival of her little lady in March!  Her new addition will join big brother Grady, who I photographed in November at Sellwood park.  He is such a cutie and reminds me so much of Jonah!

Ali let me try a couple new things in the studio, including using the XL softbox as a backlight.  I LOVE how these silhouettes turned out and intend to have this be a standard shot for all future maternity sessions.

Best of luck to Ali & family!

Laura M. Maternity Dance Photos | Pittsburgh Maternity Photographer | 5 months baby belly

These stunning dance/maternity portraits are of Laura, a dance instructor and mama-to-be in Portland, Oregon at Invictus Dance.  She isn’t due until the end of May, but we are going to meet up every month and get some photos of her growing baby as she progresses in her pregnancy!  Then, finally, we will capture her baby boy as a newborn.

These are the photos that we will use to create a composite of her growing belly (these are at 5 months):

And these are some fun ones that we took because dance is so beautiful and exciting to photograph; can’t wait for the next in the series!

Anna L. | Portland Maternity Photographer

I captured Anna in her last month of pregnancy as she awaits the birth of her second daughter.  I asked her to bring in her favorite maternity outfit and she brought in this perfect, flowy, awesome dress that she said she wore on New Year’s Eve and a couple other occasions during her pregnancy.  I love it when people bring in objects or clothing that have sentimental value or lots of personality, because I feel like that’s what you will want to remember about yourself in the years to come!  I think it’s especially perfect for a maternity session because you will want at least one fully-clothed shot to share with your soon-to-be-born child.

I think for a lot of women it’s a sublime joy and a pleasure to near the end of a pregnancy.  This might be because they are uncomfortable, or sometimes they are simply excited to meet their baby.  Regardless, the sense of accomplishment and joy always shows in a maternity portrait.

I just love these mamas!  This is quickly becoming one of my very favorite types of portrait to shoot, second only to newborn portraits!  Speaking of which, I am currently looking for a newborn, birthday between January 15-25th, for a portfolio shoot next weekend.  Contact me if you are interested!
