Pittsburgh Family Photographer | Studio Family Portrait Pittsburgh | P family

This family is friends of ours and our kiddos have been going to preschool together for the last couple years.  I’m always delighted tho work with kids that I know personally because I can be extra silly. 🙂

Another advantage to working with this family is their kids look like tiny J. Crew models.

These guys are 2 and 4 just like my own littles!  Avi loves trucks and construction vehicles, and Lena likes whales and ocean things.

Photographing My Own Kids | Pittsburgh Child Photographer

My oldest turns 4 this week and my little lady is 2, so I finally decided on a “schedule” for family portraits in the long term.  I do impromptu portrait sessions of them all the time, but I decided it’s a good idea to do an actual planned family portrait with a professional photographer (not me!!) every other year and a planned/styled session of just the kids on the alternating years.  I decided it works out well for Jeremy & me to sit out and just concentrate on the kids on alternating years.  You feel me?

I rented this studio for a family in November and decided to carve out an hour for my own kiddos in the hour before my session.  I planned the outfits, etc just as I advise all of you to do!

My kids are used to having their photos taken in my home studio and are usually great about it… however, being in a new place inspired some impish behavior, and these were a lot tougher than usual to capture!!  Still proud of my kiddos for being generally pretty sweet little ones and following mama’s directions.  Thanks to Jeremy (dada) for helping corral them!
