Leela’s 1st Birthday | Pittsburgh Baby Photographer | Shabby Chic Summer Backyard Party

As a baby and family photographer I am sometimes asked to photograph special milestone events in my clients’ lives, and every once in a while I am able to make this work with my busy portrait schedule! I was thrilled to be able to photography baby Leela’s first birthday party in July! It was thoughtfully designed by Encore Event Design.

Leela’s family went all-out for this event and with valet parking, a fully staffed bar, and the most lovely decor, including a beautiful photo backdrop from Vintage Alley in Pittsburgh. This was set up for guests to take selfies, but I took advantage of the lovely setup and posed Leela’s family while we waited for her to wake up from her afternoon nap. 🙂

Can you believe this beautiful family portrait we got with Leela just minutes after she woke up? What a sweet baby! Leela is one of NINE granddaughters (yes, all girls!!), with four aunts on her mom’s side alone, so we gathered up as many of the ladies as we could very quickly and got them all in a snapshot.

This party was all about the details, and the dessert table was no exception! Everything looked delicious and lovely! Cake and desserts by Desserts Allure and Nice to be Iced.

One of my favorite details was the precious jewelry on Leela’s feet!

Leela didn’t disappoint on the cake smash! She dug in with the help of mom, dad, her two sisters, and her grandmas! The biggest smile came when she fed mom a bite! 🙂

Mt. Lebanon High School Fashion Show 2015 | Pittsburgh Senior Photographer

I had the honor and pleasure of photographing the 2015 Fashion Show at Mt. Lebanon High School. I’m told this is an annual tradition that goes back many years! The theme this year was “Our 15 Minutes of Fame, ” inspired by Andy Warhol, and proceeds from the event went to Best Buddies and Mt. Lebanon’s Officer Reimer. The girls in the fashion club did an amazing job coordinating the show, and the clothes were top notch, some even designed and sewn by Mt. Lebanon students. I was extremely impressed overall by the professional and kind attitude of Mt. Lebanon students and am so proud to be a part of this wonderful community!

A Sweet Gesture 2015 | Duquesne Club Pittsburgh | Pittsburgh Photographer | The Family Life Fund

I had the pleasure of once again working with the wonderful board of the Family Life Fund at A Sweet Gesture 2015. The Family Life Fund is dedicated to helping families cope with a child’s compromised health or well-being. This is an organization that recognizes and honors the impact of family in a child’s life. When a child faces challenges, the entire family is affected.

These ladies devote so much time and energy into creating this stunning event, and they do it for our kids! The event was co-chaired by Laura Mabon and Tori Yoos.

This event is one of the Family Life Auxiliary’s main fundraisers is and I was lucky enough to attend and photograph it last year as well.

The Duquesne Club is absolutely gorgeous!

Dorothy Pollon was honored at this event for all she does for kids–she is always at the Family Life Fund events that I have photographed and has been an amazing supporter of Family Life at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic.

Thank to all who attended! I feel very fortunate to live in a city where the best of support is available to our kids and families!
